We are fueled by a relentless drive to improve, expand, work hard, dig deep, and forge new tools to create a thriving world.
In two words: we innovate.
Drawing from this focus, we are excited to announce this year’s launch of ThriveWorx Labs. Labs is an innovation workshop and real-world ‘laboratory’ aimed at disrupting poverty through thought leadership, research, and collaborative thinking. It’s a platform to incubate great and novel ideas, learn from experience, ask hard questions, and spread the best methods.
Prosperity Paradox Discussion Group
For our first Labs project, we welcomed a core group of ThriveWorx friends to an intimate discussion of Clayton Christensen’s The Prosperity Paradox. Over the course of five sessions, we looked at several serious questions posed by the book:
– What does healthy development for the poor look like?
– How do we create scalable global change in addition to change in individual communities?
– How do we unlock the power of locally-led innovation to drive this change?
We will be continuing these discussion series in the future – keep an eye out for the next opportunity to get involved.
Poverty Innovation Fellowship
The ThriveWorx Poverty Innovation Fellowship program was created to provide high-caliber thought leaders a real-life “laboratory” in which to research and contribute to disruptive innovation in the anti-poverty space. The Fellowship program, housed in ThriveWorx Labs, is designed to give experienced, graduate-level students first-hand knowledge of and the opportunity to contribute to ThriveWorx’s unique market-driven collective action model. Fellows enhance organizational academic capacity while seeking to improve ThriveWorx programs and helping us accelerate the innovation of new anti-poverty ideas.
ThriveWorx Labs will continue to grow new initiatives, host unique events and opportunities, and push the boundaries of contemporary development thought. We look forward to keeping you updated on what we are up to at Labs, and invite you to join us for the journey.
